UTD Picks Up Road Win at St. Edward's

AUSTIN, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team earned another Lone Star Conference victory on the road, defeating St. Edward's 2-1 at Lewis-Chen Family Field Wednesday night.

The win keeps the Comets in third place in the league standings as they improve to 9-2-1 overall and 6-2 in the LSC

First Half Highlights
- UTD pressured early with two consecutive corner kicks by the sixth minute, leading to a shot by Jules Chavez.  
- In the 10th minute, Andrea Santana of the Hilltoppers (4-7-2, 3-4-2 LSC) forced a crucial save from McKenzie Hunninghake with a shot aimed bottom left.  
- The Comets maintained offensive pressure, resulting in a shot on goal by Gabby Thompson in the 16th minute, but it was saved by Daria Schlumbohm.  
- SEU had multiple shot attempts, including a miss by Jisell Zavaleta Denova in the 38th minute, but neither team scored.  

Second Half Highlights
- The Comets took the lead in the 58th minute when senior Chelsea Vilca blasted a shot from just outside the box on the left side.
- Kira Schkade extended the advantage for UTD in the 69th minute on a tip-in past two Hilltoppers, making it 2-0.
- St. Edward's reduced the deficit in the 89th minute with Isabella Ruiz scoring, assisted by Santana.
