Women's Soccer Rallies for 2-2 Draw with TWU

RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team overcame a late 2-0 deficit to force a 2-2 draw with Texas Woman's in Lone Star Conference action at UTD Soccer Field Saturday night.

With the tie, the Comets (9-2-2, 6-2-1 LSC) sit in fourth place in the league standings with five games remaining, while the Pioneers (9-2-3, 5-2-3 LSC) drop to fifth place.

First Half Highlights
- TWU took an early lead in the 18th minute with a goal by Halee Avery, capitalizing on a shot by Alyssa Striker saved moments earlier.  
- UTD's Gabby Thompson and Chelsea Vilca each had shots saved by Faith Graves, maintaining the Pioneers' advantage.  
- The Comets' offense increased pressure late in the half, with consecutive shots from Vilca and Jules Chavez saved by Graves.  

Second Half Highlights
- Texas Woman's dominated early with a series of shots, but McKenzie Hunninghake of UTD made crucial saves, including one at 48:38.  
- Giselle Gutierrez scored for TWU at the 58:06 mark, assisted by Erica Brelove, putting the visitors ahead.  
- Amelia Griffin responded for the Comets with a goal at 72:01, assisted by Grace Pritchard, narrowing the gap to one.  
- Chavez equalized for UTD at 85:47 with assists from Thompson and Vilca, leveling the score at 2-2.

TWU outshot UTD 16-9 overall and 10-7 on goal. The Pioneers led in corner kicks, 8-4, and committed one more foul, 10-9.
