Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

UTD Stuns #9 Midwestern State 2-0

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team took over first place in the Lone Star Conference after defeating #9 Midwestern State 2-0 at Stang Park Saturday night.

It was the first victory over a ranked opponent since the Comets (8-3-2, 4-0-1 LSC) became a member of NCAA Division II and the LSC. 

First Half Highlights
- Kingsley Annan and Avery Estell took early shots for the Comets, applying pressure on the Mustangs' (8-3-3, 4-2 LSC) defense.  
- Ryder Claborn made key saves in the 15th and 35th minutes, denying shots from Liam Kervick and Espinal.  
- The Mustangs attempted multiple corner kicks but failed to convert any into goals.

Second Half Highlights  
- Iyamah scored for UTD in the 48th minute, knocking in a rebound of his own shot.
- Evan Pustejovsky extended UTD's lead to 2-0 in the 61st minute on a chipped shot over the MSU keeper, assisted by Avery Brazzell.
- Claborn made key saves against MSU's attempts, maintaining the clean sheet.  
- The period concluded with the Comets securing a 2-0 victory, holding off multiple shots from the Mustangs.  

Stats Breakdown
The Mustangs outshot the Comets 20-8 overall and 6-5 on goal. MSU also led in corner kicks 6-3, while UTD was called for more fouls, 18-11.

Osi Iyamah - first career goal and game-winner
Evan Pustejovsky - second goal of the season 
Avery Brazzell  - second assist of the year
The defensive line of Josh Zemanski, Callum Thompson, Julio De Los Reyes and Ryan Anderson played all 90 minutes in the shutout.
