LAREDO, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team stayed in third place in the Lone Star Conference standings after defeating Texas A&M International 1-0 at Dustdevil Field Saturday night.
The Comets (7-1-1, 4-1 LSC) posted its second consecutive shutout and fourth of the season. They outshot the Dustdevils (1-4-2, 1-3-1 LSC) 19-7 overall and 12-1 on goal.
First Half Highlights
- UT Dallas opened with offensive pressure, recording three shots on target within the first 12 minutes, but all were saved by TAMIU's goalkeeper, Latae Rodriguez. Â
- The Dustdevil's Janize Castillo had a key attempt in the 29th minute, but
McKenzie Hunninghake made a crucial save for Texas-Dallas. Â
- Rodriguez continued her strong performance with two more saves in the final three minutes of the half, keeping the Comets from breaking through. Â

- UTD capitalized early in the second period with steady pressure, leading to a goal by
Jules Chavez in the 62nd minute to break the deadlock.Â
