Comets Blast Lobos 6-0 on Senior Day

RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team celebrated senior day with a 6-0 victory over Sul Ross State at UTD Soccer Field Saturday afternoon.

The win was the seventh shutout of the year for the Comets (12-3-2, 9-3-1 Lone Star Conference), who sit in fourth place in the league standings with one game remaining.

UTD honored its five seniors before the game - McKenzie Hunninghake, Chelsea Vilca, Emily Seymour, Lina Ullen and Kaley Robison.

 SRSU (2-15-0, 1-12-0) at the UTD Soccer Complex on Saturday, with the home team recording 19 shots on goal.

First Half Highlights
- Chelsea Vilca opened the scoring for UTD at the 1:47 mark with an assist from Jules Chavez, giving the home team an early lead.
- Vilca doubled the advantage in the 17th minute, capitalizing on the Comets' offensive pressure to make it 2-0.
- Chavez added to the lead with a goal in the 28th minute, assisted by Viviana Duarte, extending the Comets' lead to 3-0.

Second Half Highlights
- The Comets extended their lead early in the period with a goal by Chavez at 47:42, bringing the score to 4-0.
- Ullen further increased the margin with a goal assisted by Vilca at 59:40, making it 5-0.
- Ullen scored again at 75:36, assisted by Chavez, pushing the lead to 6-0.
- Despite several attempts by the Lobos (2-15, 1-12 LSC), including a shot by Riley Stallings at 77:20, the Comets' held on to the shutout victory.

Stats Breakdown
The Comets outshot the Lobos 34-8 overall and 19-2 on goal. UTD also led 4-3 in corner kicks, while SRSU committed more fouls, 13-6.

Chelsea Vilca - 2 goals and 1 assist. She becomes the 18th player in school history to reach the 20-goal mark.
Jules Chavez - 2 goals and 2 assists on 10 shots, bringing season total to 7 goals and 5 assists.
