RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team wrapped up the 2025 campaign Saturday with a 16-25, 25-20, 26-24, 20-25, 15-8 win over Texas Woman's at the UTD Activity Center.
The Comets finished the year 9-19 overall and 6-11 in Lone Star Conference play, placing tied for 12th in their inaugural season in the league. UTD also won its final four home matches.Â
The Pioneers (18-10, 11-6 LSC), who captured sixth place in the league standings, hit .368 in the opening set for the early advantage.
In the second, the Comets led 20-19 before ending the frame with a 5-1 run. UTD overcame a 21-16 deficit late in the third, outscoring TWU 10-3 and holding off two set points for the 26-24 victory.
The visitors from Denton led almost the entire fourth set to force the decisive fifth game.
The Comets hit .348 in the final set, controlling it from the get-go with a 5-0 lead.Â
For the match, UTD hit .144 with 59 kills, eight aces, 97 digs and a season-best 11 blocks. TWU hit .180 on 63 kills, four aces, 16 blocks and 84 digs.
UT Dallas Performances
- Freshman outside hitter
Jane Burkhardt tied for the seventh most kills in a match in program history, connecting on 26 and hitting .303 with 10 digs.
- Junior middle blocker
Laura See had 12 kills and a team-high six total blocks.
- Junior libero
Mari Hernandez led all players with 30 digs, the second most for her this season.

Sydney Sabin had a double-double of 17 digs and 10 assists and served up four aces.
- Freshman right side
Jada Williams added six kills and five blocks.

Lila Westphal also had five kills and five blocks.
- Freshman setter
Abby Gentner posted her 17th double-double of the year - the fourth-most in a season for a Comet - with 43 assists and 23 digs.
Texas Woman's Performances
- Tori Woods paced the Pionners with 15 kills and had 15 digs.
- Benedite Anuman hit .706 with 12 kills and no errors and had five blocks.
- Myracle Stockman recorded 14 kills, six blocks and seven digs.
- Jonaida Donowa had eight kills and 10 total blocks.
- Kiana Reed posted 30 assists and 11 digs.
- Alyssa Rojo led TWU with 24 digs.
