BROWNWOOD, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team picked up its 10th win in 11 games as they dominated Howard Payne 78-32 at the Brownwood Coliseum Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (14-6) got off to a hot start by shooting 55 percent (11-for-20) in the first quarter and led 25-6 at the end of the opener. The Lady Jackets (4-17) struggled even more offensively in the second quarter as they trailed 38-11 going into halftime.
UTD continued to shutdown HPU's offense and would lead by as many as 49 points late in the game.
The Comets shot 45.6 percent (31-for-68) from the field, 10-of-28 from three-point territory and 6-of-8 at the free throw line. They also had 42 rebounds, 14 assists, five turnovers, three blocks and 11 steals. The field goals made tied for the most this season by UTD while the turnovers were the lowest of the year.
The Lady Jackets shot 19.1 percent (9-of-47) overall, 2-for-15 from outside and 12-of-21 at the charity stripe with 36 rebounds, three assists, 19 turnovers, no blocks and three steals. The field goals made, percentage, three-pointers made, assists, blocks and steals were the lowest output by a Comet opponent this season.

- The 46-point margin of victory was the best for UTD this season.

Alex Bowman led the Comets with 16 points in just 17 minutes of play.
- Junior guard
Raven Busby came off the bench for a season-high 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. She also came up with two steals.

Anna Yellen drained a trio of three-pointers and finished with 11 points, four rebounds and a pair of steals.

Cierra Trigg was 4-for-5 from the field and hit two three-pointers en route to 10 points to go with four boards.

Amanda Crowninshield recorded six points and three assists.
- Freshman
Elsy Hartman had four points and two steals.
- Center
Ellery Sample posted four points, five rebounds and a blocked shot.
- Freshman guard
Jayla Lewis added a season-high five rebounds and led UTD with three assists.

- Kiana Henning led HPU with nine points and pulled down five rebounds.
- Madison Clay posted eight points and eight rebounds.
- Tatum Walker added eight points and six rebounds off the bench.
- Kate Buchaman recorded seven rebounds.
