LONGVIEW, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team posted its biggest win of the season, defeating LeTourneau 83-33 at Solheim Arena Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (16-6) set the tone with a 27-11 first quarter, shooting 62.5 percent (10-of-16) from the field. They held the YellowJackets (8-16) to just four points in the second quarter to lead 41-15 at the half. UTD outscored the home team 42-18 in the second half.
UTD shot 49.2 percent (30-of-61) from the field 4-of-13 from three-point range and 19-of-24 at the free throw line with 49 rebounds, 23 assists, 17 turnovers, four blocks and 17 steals.
LeTourneau was held to 23.1 percent (12-of-52) shooting, 0-for-17 from outside and 9-of-9 at the line with 20 rebounds, six assists, 25 turnovers, five blocks and six steals.
The Comets had season-highs in margin of victory (50), field goals made (30), field goal percentage (49.2), free throws made (19), rebounds (49), assists (23) and points (83). The YellowJackets recorded the fewest three-pointers made (0) and rebounds (20) for a UTD opponent this season.
UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets have won 12 of their last 13 contests dating back to December 18.
- UTD completes the season sweep of LeTourneau, outscoring them 157-63 in the two games.
