RICHARDSON, Texas - The 2024-25 UT Dallas men's basketball season ended with an 83-76 loss to Hardin-Simmons Saturday at the UTD Activity Center.

The visiting Cowboys (16-9) started the game with a 37-21 advantage, before the Comets (15-10) cut the deficit to 39-36 at halftime. UTD tied it up early in the second half, but could not gain the lead.Â
A pair of free throws from sophomore forward
Jordan Balderaz made the game 81-76 with just under a minute remaining. Trevion Howell iced the game for HSU with two free throws with 25 seconds left in the game.
The Comets shot 47.8 percent (22-of-46) from the floor, 7-of-22 from outside and 25-of-33 at the free throw line. They also posted 31 rebounds, 17 assists, 19 turnovers, six blocks and 12 steals.
The Cowboys shot 49 percent (25-of-51) overall, 12-of-20 from long distance and 21-of-23 at the line with 26 rebounds, 19 assists, 16 turnovers, three blocks and 10 steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- Freshman
Peyton Dulin led the Comets with 14 points and had season-highs of eight assists and five steals.
- Donnelly made four three-pointers for 13 points to go with a couple of steals. He ended his career ranked second in program history with 180 three-pointers made.
- Junior center
Austin Page went 7-for-7 at the line en route to 11 points while grabbing six rebounds.Â

Zach Spitzer added nine points, five boards, two blocks and two steals.
- Balderaz finished with seven points, going 7-for-8 from the charity stripe.
- Nurenberg was 3-for-3 shooting for seven points.
Hardin-Simmons Notes
- Chris Bryant led all players with 20 points to go with four rebounds and two blocks.
- Asher Fleming had 16 points, four assists, four rebounds and two steals.
- Howell finished with 16 points, making four three-pointers.
- Matthew Alexanders added 13 points, four boards and three steals.
