SHREVEPORT, La. - The UT Dallas baseball team continued its offensive onslaught with a 15-6 victory over Occidental at Shehee Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
The Comets (12-1) outhit the Tigers (4-11) 12-7 and led in walks drawn 12-5.
Center fielder
Austin Wallace drew a one-out walk and scored on an
Efren Munoz infield single to put UTD up 1-0 in the top of the first. They added three more runs in the second on a base hit, a hit batter, three walks and an error.
Catcher Thomas Munch hit a two-run homer for Occidental in the third to make the game 4-2.
Lucas Rexin drove in
Jayden Chatman with a sacrifice fly in the fourth followed by Munoz and freshman third baseman
Jackson Montee recorded run-scoring singles in the fifth to go up 7-2.
The Comets tacked on four more runs in the sixth on four hits, a walk and a wild pitch. Their final three runs for UTD came in the top of the seventh, including a two-run double from
Noah Angus.
Occidental plated four runs in the bottom of the seventh after a base hit and four walks for the final 15-6 score.
UT Dallas Notes
- Montee went 3-for-6 with three runs batted in for his first collegiate hits.
- Angus knocked in three runs and was 2-for-5 with two runs scored, a walk and a double.
- Munoz was 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and two RBI.

Trent McCown drew three walks, recorded a base hit, RBI, two runs and a stolen base.
- Rexin scored three times with two RBI and a steal.
- Chatman drew a pair of walks and scored twice.
- Wallace extended his hitting streak to seven.

Anthony France (2-0) earned the win on the mound with three scoreless innings of relief. He gave up two hits and a walk while striking out one.

Trevor McGrath finished the game with three Ks and two hits allowed over 2.2 innings.
- The Comets have drawn 10 or more walks six times this season.
Occidental Notes
- Starter Braden Hill (0-1) walked five and allowed two hits, three earned runs and fanned two batters over 1.2 innings.
- Reliever Dylan Fanelli struck out three batters out of the five he faced in a scoreless outing.
- Munch went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI, a walk, a double and the home run.
- Jefferey Cambra, Ben Rutkin and Taylor Cann each drove in a run.
