BROWNWOOD, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team concluded the 2025 campaign Saturday afternoon with a double-header split at Lady Jacket Field. The host Lady Jackets (7-33) won the first game 6-5, then the Comets (17-18) rebounded to take the finale 5-1.
Game 1
UTD freshman
Sarah Olenick drew a walk and scored on an
Addison Caddell single up the middle in the top of the first. HPU went up 2-1 in the bottom of the inning after a RBI-single from Annie-Klein Allgood and a double that led to an error off McKeanne Saenz' bat. Another error in the second led to two more runs crossing the plate for the Lady Jackets.
The Comets tied it up in the third after
Cadence Hernandez singled and
Addison Caddell doubled.
Mikayla Hoffman followed with another double to left field, plating both runners. Senior
Riley Westmoreland then drove in Hoffman with the third two-bagger of the inning to make the game 4-4.
Claire Pollack led off the fourth with a base hit, went to second on an Olenick sacrifice bunt and scored on a single up the middle by Hernandez, giving UTD a 5-4 advantage.
WIth two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Sanez drew a walk and Bryce Allen-Bourland hit a walk-off home run to give the HPU its first victory of the series.
The Comets outhit the home team 13-6, but allowed six walks and made two errors.
Allgood (1-2) earned the win with four innings of relief, allowing five hits and a walk.
Allison Koch (5-6) tied a career-high with seven strikeouts and allowed four earned runs over the 6.2 innings in the losing effort.
Game 2
UTD jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first two innings. Pollack led the game off with a double and scored on a
Julia Maniscalco double to center. Caddell drove in Maniscalco on a base hit. Pollack had a two-run single, plating Westmoreland and
Cole Johnson in the second.
Allgood led off the fourth with a walk and later scored on a ground ball by Ashley Blaylock for the Lady Jackets' only run.Â
Senior catcher
Gracelyn Taylor hit a solo home run in the sixth to give the Comets the 5-1 win.
Madelyn Denn (9-6) earned the win in relief, throwing 3.2 perfect innings.
Erika Fedak started and allowed one run, four walks and a strikeout over 3.1 innings. Allgood (1-3) took the loss.
UT Dallas Notes
- Westmoreland went 5-for-7 with a double, a run scored and a run batted in.
- Caddell was 5-for-8 in the two games with a double, a run and two RBI.
- Pollack had four hits, a double, two runs and two RBI on the day.
- Hernandez recorded four hits, two doubles, a RBI and a walk.Â
- Maniscalco came up with three hits, including a double and a run batted in.
- Hoffman drove in two runs and had a double in game two.
- Taylor's home run was her second of the year.

- The Comets broke the season program records for most batters hit by a pitch (28) and 19 double plays turned.
