Welcome back to Whoosh Weekly. The Comets enter October with lots of momentum and look to continue the success.
LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
Men's Golf - The Comets traveled to Akumal, Mexico and competed in the Shootout at PGA Rivieria Maya. They finished eighth out of 10 teams with first-year golfer
Abhay Duggal leading the way for the second straight tournament. Duggal tied for 14th place with a +12.
Hunter Wolfinger finished strong with an even-par third round.
Women's Golf - UTD picked up its first tournament victory of the year in dominant fashion. The Comets won the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational in Amarillo by 21 strokes, shooting a 289-283-279=851 (-1). They broke the 54-hole school record by 45 shots and had the best team round in the finale. UTD led the tournament field with 43 birdies, 171 pars and three eagles.

Anvesha Gulhane was the individual runner-up after a playoff for medalist honors. She broke the 54-hole school record with a 67-70-71=208 (-5).
Brooke Yount and
Molly Woods also finished in the top 10.
Volleyball - UTD went 2-1 inside the Activity Center, starting with four-set victory over St. Mary's on Wednesday. They followed with a close, four-set loss to #7 Angelo State on Friday and finished with a come-from-behind five-set win over UT Permian Basin. The Comets are now tied for fifth place with 11 matches remaining.
Jane Burkhardt recorded 28 kills against the Falcons, the third-most in program history. She also broke the facility record with 81 attacks.
Scarlette Young posted a pair of double-doubles last week and is tied for the national lead with five on the season.
Men's Soccer - The Comets battled to a pair of conference draws last week. They hosted DBU in a scoreless tie on Wednesday, then went on the road for a 1-1 decision at West Texas A&M on Saturday.
Callum Thompson scored against the Buffaloes on an assist from
Evan Pustejovsky. UTD is now 0-0-3 in the Lone Star.
Women's Soccer - UT Dallas defeated Texas A&M International 1-0 at home on Saturday in its only contest of the week.
Jules Chavez scored for the fifth time this season, giving the Comets the victory in 78th minute.
Avery Riley was responsible for the assist.
Melyna Martinez had two saves for the eighth shutout of the season. UTD is now 4-2-1 and in sixth place in the conference standings.

Men's Soccer - The Comets go to Lubbock Christian for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff against the Chaps on Wednesday. Saturday, they face #3 Midwestern State and will continue Greek Night with a pizza party and another GOTRAX
™ electric scooter giveaway.
Volleyball - UT Dallas goes on the road to face Midwestern State in Wichita Falls at 6 p.m. on Friday and Lubbock Christian at 2 p.m. Saturday.
