EDMOND, Okla. - The UT Dallas baseball team scored two runs in the top of the ninth to win 4-3 against Oklahoma Christian at Dobson Baseball Field Sunday afternoon.
The win marks the first for
Travis Graves, making his debut as head coach with the Comets.
UTD (1-0 Lone Star Conference), opened the scoring in the top of the fourth when
Trent McCown reached on an error and scored on a base hit by sophomore third baseman
Jackson Montee.
Connor Sanderson led the bottom of the fourth off with a single and scored on Dylan Darnall double, tying the game for the Eagles (0-1 LSC).
Albert Garza led the fifth off with a walk and later scored on a
Nico Fernandez single up the middle, giving the Comets a 2-1 lead. OC tied it again in the bottom of the frame when Hank Heiselbetz singled in Trey Migl.
Hunter Sandifer hit a solo home run to left field in the sixth to put the Eagles up 3-2.
With one out in the top of the ninth, Garza tripled to right center and scored on a
Kole Kinnison base hit. Kinnison then stole second and was driven in on a double down the right field line by shortstop
Jake Amoroso for the winning run.

Tag Pacot hammered home the victory with a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth.

- Jason Ricket (0-1) took the loss, allowing three hits and two runs with three strikeouts in two innings.
- Evan Ballast struck out five batters, giving up one hit and one walk over 2.2 innings of relief.
