MANSFIELD, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team won both its contests on the final day of the Lone Star D2 College Classic at the Fields at Station 63 Sunday. The Comets (2-2) defeated Lewis (1-3) 10-7 in the opener, then defeated Colorado School of Mines (2-3) 8-4 in five innings.
vs. Lewis
- The Comets outhit the Flyers 17-12.
- UTD opened the game with four runs on five hits and an error in the first inning. Senior catcher
Avery Martin had an RBI-double in the frame.
- Lewis answered with five runs on two hits and four walks in the bottom of the first. Chloe Kohnhorst had a three-run triple to right center to put LU ahead.

Claire Pollack walked and later scored on a
Julia Maniscalco sacrifice fly to tie game at 5-5 in the top of the second.
- The Flyers regained the lead in the second with two runs.
- Freshman right fielder
McKenna Holm drove in
Sarah Olenick to make to cut the deficit to one run in the top of the third.
- Maniscalco walked and was pinch ran for by
Blair Collier in the fourth. Collier stole second and scored on a base hit by
Audrey Messer.
- Maniscalco doubled in
Chloe Grimmer, followed by
Avery Martin singling in
Cameron Alardin to give the Comets a 9-7 lead in the fifth.

Brooke Bouldin added a pinch hit RBI-single, plating Messer for the final 10-7 score in the sixth.
UT Dallas Highlights
- Junior pitcher
Allison Koch (1-0) threw 4.2 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win. She allowed five hits and one walk with three strikeouts and retired the final seven batters in a row.
- Messer was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI.
- Pollack was 2-for-4 with two runs and a walk.
- Maniscalco went 2-for-3 with a double, two driven in and a walk.
- Martin had a pair of hits, including a double, with two RBI.
- Olenick also had two hits.
Lewis Highlights
- Left fielder Nicole Magdziasz went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a walk.
- Kohnhorst had three RBI on two hits, including the triple.
- Second baseman Jozlynn Pacheco was 2-for-4.
- Chloe Gust (0-1) took the loss, allowing six hits, three runs and two walks in 2.1 innings of relief.
vs. Colorado School of Mines
- The game was shortened to five innings due to travel commitments by Mines.
- The Orediggers scored three runs in the top of the first on four hits and an error. Emiaj Self had an RBI-single up the middle to go up 3-0.
- The Comets picked up a pair of runs in the bottom half of the first with Pollack leading off with a single, moving to third on a Maniscalco double and scoring on a Messer ground ball. Third baseman

- An error led to Mines taking a 4-2 advantage in the top of the second.
- UTD took a 5-4 lead in the third. Olenick drew a bases loaded walk to score Maniscalco, the Alardin followed with a two-run single to right field.
- Pollack doubled and scored on a Maniscalco base hit in the fourth.

Cadence Hernandez connected on a pinch hit single down the right field line, scoring pinch runners
Sydney Wheeler and
Julia Guerrero to make the game 8-4.
- UTD outhit Mines 11-7.
UT Dallas Highlights
- Pollack went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a double. She extended her hitting streak to 12 games, dating back to last season.
- Maniscalco had a double, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a RBI.
- Martinez was 2-for-3 with a run batted in.

Savannah Vanderpool (1-0) earned the win, pitching a scoreless fourth inning with two strikeouts.

- Starter Ellen Shull (0-1) took the loss, allowing six hits, five runs and two walks with a strikeout over 2.2 innings.
- Kellan Ton was 2-for-2 with two RBI, a walk and a double.

- Kendall Aragon went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a double.
