RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's tennis team lost to Delta State 5-2 at the UTD Tennis Courts Thursday night.

The visiting Statesmen (2-0) won all three doubles match-ups for the first point. The top two spots had final tallies of 6-3.

In singles, redshirt freshman Juan Luis Aguirre won number one singles 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5) against Simon Ojeda. Senior Benjamin Dubois won a three-set match at number two, defeating Juan Diego Alzate 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. It was the 21st career duel victory for Dubois.

Matheus de Freitas Zanellato had a close 6-2, 6-3 loss to Marti Cerda Castillo at number four.

UTD will host Northeastern State at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
