RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team earned a Lone Star Conference doubleheader split with Eastern New Mexico Friday evening at UTD Softball Field. The visiting Greyhounds (7-8, 3-5 LSC) won the opener 9-6, while the Comets (5-5, 3-3 LSC) won the nightcap 8-7 in walk-off fashion.
Game 1
- Both teams had nine hits, but ENMU drew nine walks, while UTD walked five times.
- Only two of the runs given up to the Greyhounds were earned after two errors.
- ENMU led 2-1 after the second inning, the UTD scored three runs in the third to go up 4-2.Â
- Greyhounds regained the lead with a four-run fourth, highlighted by a two-run single from Giazza Lopez.
- Comet right fielder
Cameron Alardin singled in
Audrey Messer to make it 6-5 in the fourth.
 - Christina Meneses hit a solo home run to lead a three-run sixth inning for ENMMU.

Isabella Quave reached on an error and scored on a base hit to right center in the bottom of the seventh for the final 9-6 score.
UT Dallas in Game 1
- Freshman third baseman
Rachel Wallace doubled and walked.
- Messer was hit by a pitch twice, walked, singled and scored.
- Alardin was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, RBI, walk and a stolen base.

Chloe Grimmer each had two singles and a RBI.
- Freshman
Mere Cavazos (0-3) started and took the loss in the circle.
- Junior
Allison Koch struck out two and allowed a hit and two walks in 1.1 scoreless frames.
Eastern New Mexico in Game 1
- Meneses was 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and a solo home run.
- Kayla Campbell hit a home run, scored twice, drove in twon runs and walked twice.
- Marissa Rodriguez (3-0) picked up the win with five innings of relief. She was also 1-for-1 with two runs scored, a RBI and three walks at the plate.
Game Two
- ENMU scored in the first, but Wallace tied it with a leadoff solo home run in the bottom of the frame. UTD went up 2-1 later in the inning after an error led to a run.
- Second baseman Kayla Campbell hit a two-run shot to center field to give the Greyhounds a 3-2 advantage in the second. An error in the fourth led to two more runs for Eastern in the fourth.
- Campbell batted in Emily Marsh in the fifth to go up 6-3.
- Grimmer blasted a grand slam over the left field fence to put the Comets up 7-6 in the sixth.
- Another error in the top of the seventh allowed the Greyhounds to knot the game at 7-7.
- In the bottom of the seventh, catcher
Avery Martin led off by being hit. After a strikeout,
Claire Pollack walked to put a pair of runners on.
Sarah Olenick reached on a fielder's choice as Martin was putout at third base for the second out.Â
- Holm followed with the game-winning hit down the left field line, scoring Pollack.

Comets in Game Two
- Grimmer's grand slam was the 25th in program history.
- Pollack went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and a walk.
- Wallace's home run was her second of the season.
- Holm was 2-for-3 with a run, RBI and sacrifice bunt.
- Freshman
Megan Stulc (1-0) picked up the win, allowing four hits, one earned run and two hits with three strikeouts over three innings.
Greyhounds in Game Two
- Lopez (0-2) gave up the winning run in the loss in the circle.
- Campbell went 2-for-3 with three RBI, walk, run scored, home run.
- Meneses drove in two runs.
