EDMOND, Okla. - The UT Dallas women's basketball team finished the season with a 74-62 victory over Oklahoma Christian at the Eagles' Nest Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (13-14, 10-10 Lone Star Conference) ended the year with a three-game win streak and tied for eighth place in their inaugural LSC campaign. If eligible, UTD would have qualified for the LSC Championship Tournament in Frisco, Texas.
The visitors led the Eagles (12-15, 8-12 LSC) 19-7 after the first quarter 36-25 at halftime. OC started the third period on an 11-4 run to cut the deficit to four points. The Comets pushed the lead to as many as 19 in the fourth.
UTD shot 41.3 percent (26-of-63) from the field, 2-of-10 from three-point range and 20-of-24 at the free throw line with 34 rebounds, 16 assists, 17 turnovers, four blocks and eight steals.
The Eagles shot 34.5 percent (20-of-58) overall, 5-of-12 from outside and 17-of-30 at the charity stripe to go with 33 rebounds, eight assists, 18 turnovers, five blocks and nine steals.
UT Dallas Performances
- Junior guard
Umi Otsuka scored 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting and was 8-of-9 at the line. She also dished out seven assists and had two steals.
- Senior forward
Addy Self dropped a season-best 22 points with seven rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal.
- Graduate student guard
Anna Yellen recorded 10 points, three rebounds and three steals off the bench.
- Forward
Danielle Oyakhire had seven points, seven boards and a pair of blocks.
- Freshman guard
Kinley Mears added five points, seven rebounds, two assists, one block and a steal.

Oklahoma Christian Performances
- Taylor Jackson led the Eagles with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting off the bench. She also recorded five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
- Kenzie Willis had nine points and six rebounds.
- Trinity Dobbs added nine points and three steals.
- Ahniya Melton grabbed seven rebounds.
Comets in the Record Books
- UTD set school records with 125 blocked shots and 4.69 blocks per game this year.
- They finished with the second-best free percentage in school history at 75.2 percent.
- Self finished her career tied for fifth in program history with 496 rebounds and third with 89 blocked shots. She was also second in career rebounds per game and in the top 10 in assists per game, assist/turnover ratio, steals per game and blocks per game.
- Yellen ended her career ranked eighth in three-pointers made with 94.
- Self was also third on the Comet list with 45 blocks this season, fifth with 210 rebounds and fifth at 7.8 rebounds per game.
- Otsuka became the 12th player at UTD to finish with more than 400 points in a season (401).
- Oyakhire ended her freshman season in fifth place with 34 blocked shots.
