RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team lost both games of a Lone Star Conference doubleheader to Texas A&M-Kingsville Friday evening. The Comets (5-9, 3-7 LSC) lost the first game 9-3 and the Javelinas (15-11, 10-6 LSC) took the nightcap 21-6.

Game 1
- TAMUK outhit UTD 11-3. 
- Lanie Ballin hit a two-run homer in the second to put the Javelinas up 2-0.
- An error in the bottom of the second led to three runs for the Comets.
- Kingsville tied the game in the fourth.
- Maria Valls Raya hit a grand slam in the sixth to put the Javelinas up 7-3.
- Ayla Gonzales had a two-run base hit in the seventh for the final 9-3 tally.

UT Dallas in Game One
- Freshman Haley Whitefield had the only extra-base hit for the Comets with a double.
- Catcher Avery Martin recorded a hit and scored.
- Sarah Olenick walked and scored.
- Center fielder Chloe Grimmer singled and stole her fifth base of the season.
- Mere Cavazos (0-5) started and took the loss.

Texas A&M-Kingsville in Game One
- Ballin went 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
- Ayla Gonzales was 3-for-4 with two RBI.
- Dakota Martinez scored three times.
- Andrea Martinez (5-6) struck out six and allowed three unearned runs and a walk in the complete game win.

Game Two
- TAMUK scored four runs in the first. 
- Second baseman Claire Pollack led off the bottom of the first with an infield single, stole second and scored on a Julia Guerrero ground ball.
- UTD took a 6-4 lead in the third after a Guerrero and Martin RBI-singles and a three-run bomb by Julia Maniscalco.
- The Javelinas scored nine runs in the sixth, including a three-run homer by Dakota Martinez.
- TAMUK added eight more runs in the top of the seventh.
- The visitors outhit the Comets 18-8.

Comets in Game Two
- Maniscalco recorded two hits and hit her first home run of the season.
- Guerrero drove in two runs and scored.
- Pollack went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base.
- Martin, Olenick and Brooke Bouldin also recorded hits. Olenick also stole a base.
- Rachel Wallace walked and scored.
- Allison Koch (2-1) struck out five in 5.1 innings and took her first loss of the year.

Javelinas in Game Two
- Kristina Nash (3-1) earned the win in relief, throwing an inning and striking out two.
- Rylee Yarborough, Andrea Martinez and Kailee Silva also had scoreless outings in relief.
- Dakota Martinez was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, four RBI and the home run.
- Jolyn Perez was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.
- Karina Alarcon was 2-for-2 with two RBI.
- Victoria Vargas went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBI, three walks, a triple and a stolen base.
