RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team lost both games of a Lone Star Conference doubleheader to Texas A&M International on an extremely windy Sunday afternoon at UTD Softball Field. The Dustdevils (8-21, 4-12 LSC) defeated the Comets (5-11, 3-9 LSC) 8-0 in five innings and 11-7.
Game One
- TAMIU outhit UTD 8-4.
- The game was scoreless until the Dustdevils scored seven runs in the fourth inning.
- Victoria Espinoza hit a solo home run in the fifth for the final 8-0 score.
- Nevaeh Herrera (3-8) picked up the win with four hits and two walks allowed and two strikeouts.
UT Dallas in Game One
- Senior second baseman
Claire Pollack went 2-for-3 for the Comets.

Cadence Hernandez doubled and drew a walk.

Julia Maniscalco also recorded a double.
Texas A&M International in Game One
- Espinoza went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBI, a double and a home run.
- Herrera was also 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBI.
- Austyn Marraige was 2-for-4 for the Dustdevils.
Game Two
- UTD outhit TAMIU 15-11 but committed three errors.Â
- The game was 4-3 in the Dustdevils favor after the first inning.
- Both teams scored one in the third and International added four runs in the fourth to go up 9-4.Â
- After a Dustdevil run in the sixth, Hernandez hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the inning to make it 10-7.Â
- TAMIU added one more run in the top of the seventh.
Comets in Game Two
- Pitchers
Allison Koch (2-1) and
Katie Hart struck out three batters each.
- Hernandez went 2-for-2 with a run scored, three RBI and two walks with her first home run of the season.
- Sophomore right fielder
Brooke Bouldin was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and a RBI.

McKenna Holm had three hits, including a double, two runs and a run batted in.
- Pollack posted two hits - one triple -Â and a run scored.

Chloe Grimmer and
Sophia Martinez each doubled.
- Freshman catcher
Megan DeWitt picked up her first collegiate hit.
Dustdevils in Game Two
- Queenandra Dunn was 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored.
- Marriage went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored.
- Espinoza was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
- Sessy Moreno singled, walked twice and scored twice to go with a stolen base.
- Kylie Goad (3-11) earned the win, allowing three walks, 15 hits and seven runs with three strikeouts.
Up Next
The Comets will play at #8 Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas in a 4 p.m. doubleheader Friday.
