SAN ANGELO, Texas - After winning the first two games of the series, the UT Dallas baseball team lost 4-2 in seven innings to #13/20/22 Angelo State at Foster Field Saturday night.
The Rams (17-8 Lone Star Conference) limited the Comets (17-8 LSC) to just two hits, while recording seven.
ASU picked up the first two runs after an error in the bottom of the third. A Brett Smajstrla triple drove in Gamaliel Jones to give the Rams a 3-0 lead in the fourth. Tate Greene stole home as part of a double-steal in the fifth.
UTD got on the board in the seventh when
Austin Wallace walked and
Nico Fernandez hit a home run off the scoreboard in right center.
UT Dallas Performances
- Fernandez had both hits for the Comets - a double and a home run. The home run was his fourth of the season.Â

- Nick Gray (2-0) earned the win, allowing one hit, five walks and six strikeouts over five innings.
- Greene went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
- Smajstrla tripled and singled with a walk, RBI and run scored.
