SAN ANGELO, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team pressured #10 Angelo State but fell 7-4 and 8-3 in a Lone Star Conference doubleheader at Meyer Softball Field Friday evening.
Game One Highlights
- The Comets (5-13, 3-11 LSC) outhit the Rambelles (27-6, 16-2 LSC) 7-5.
- UTD went up 4-0 in the top of the third on four hits and an error.
- With the bases loaded, an RBI-ground ball and an error led to
Chloe Grimmer and
Sarah Olenick scoring the first two runs.

Avery Martin to put the Comets up 4-0.
- ASU picked up a run in the bottom of the third and two more in the fourth.
- A bases-loaded walk issued to Tatiana Trotter tied the game in the fifth.
- The Rambelles scored three runs in the sixth, including a two-run single from Zoey Sifuentes.
UT Dallas in Game One
- Maniscalco had the only extra-base hit for UTD with a double.
- Senior second baseman
Claire Pollack went 2-for-4.
- Olenick walked, singled and scored.

Mere Cavazos (0-7) took the loss in the circle.
Angelo State in Game One
- Addy Ewing (10-0) earned the win in relief. She struck out four and allowed two hits in three scoreless frames.
- Karli Manney was 2-for-2 with an RBI, run scored, sac bunt and two stolen bases.
- Trotter walked three times and scored a run.
- Penelope Hurtado knocked in two runs.
Game Two Highlights
- Sifuentes hit a two-run homer in the first.
- ASU added two more runs in the second.

Cadence Hernandez hit a three-run double in the top of the third to make it 4-3.
- Sifuentes added another RBI-double in the fourth.
- The Rambelles tacked on two more runs in fifth and one in the sixth.
- ASU outhit UTD 6-3.
Comets in Game Two
- Hernandez had the biggest hit of the game for UTD with the three-run double.
- Martin also recorded a double.
- Manisclaco singled and drew a walk.

Josie Karpinski (1-3) started and drew the loss.
Rambelles in Game Two
- Sifeuntes went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
- Taylor Haywood had a hit, RBI, walk, stolen base and scored twice.
- Maddison Ruiz (7-3) struck out nine, walked five and allowed three hits and three runs in the complete game victory.
