RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas baseball team completed the four-game series sweep of UT Permian Basin with a 19-2, seven-inning victory at UTD Baseball Field Sunday.
With the win, the Comets move into a three-way tie with St. Mary's and UT Tyler atop the Lone Star Conference standings at 22-8 with 20 games to play.Â
The host team shut down the Falcons (8-22 LSC) throughout the entire weekend, outscoring them 54-9 and leading in hits 52-25. UTD drew 29 walks and was hit by a pitch seven times, compared to 11 and 2, respectively, for UTPB. The Comets posted a 2.40 ERA, while the Falcons had a 15.23 ERA for the series.
UTD also improved to 11-0 at home this season and has won 13 consecutive games in Richardson, dating back to last season.

- The Comets sent 10 batters to the plate in the first, scoring seven runs on just one hit, three walks, three hit batters and a sacrifice fly.

- UTD outhit UTPB 11-6 and outdrew them in walks 12-1.Â

- Oler (4-1) went five innings, allowing four hits and a walk with two strikeouts.

- Barker went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, five RBI and three runs scored.
- Amoroso recorded a double and drove in four runs.
- Fernandez extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a 2-for-4 performance. He also scored twice, recorded a double, and knocked in a pair.
- McCown posted two walks, two RBI and two runs.
- Garza drew a walk, stole a base and scored three times. He also was hit by a pitch, breaking the school career record with 33.
UT Permian Basin Performances
- Kade Adams (0-1) took the loss, starting and allowing four runs, two walks and hitting two batters while only recording one out.
- Christian Rodriguez and Solomon James each threw a scoreless inning.
- Lewis went 2-for-2 with the home run.
