PUEBLO, Colo. - The UT Dallas women's golf team is tied for first place after the first round of the Southern Colorado Open at Walking Stick Golf Course on Sunday. Individually, freshman Camilah Porras is tied for the lead.

The Comets fired a +7, 295 in the opening round, tying for the fifth-best team score in program history. They are knotted with the host #34 CSU Pueblo and ahead of #49 Texas A&M International (306/+18), Colorado Christian (306/+18) and Seattle Pacific (308/+20) in the 15-team event.

Porras shot an even round of 72, making one birdie and a tournament-leading 16 pars. 

Sophomore Brooke Yount tied for the tourney lead with four birdies and shot a 73 (+1). She is tied for third. Also in the top 10 is sophomore Carla van Remmen with a 74 (+2) and three birdies, tying for seventh. Sophomore Syrah Javed rounded out the scoring for UTD with a 76 (+4) and a pair of birdies.

The Comets will finish the tournament on Monday.
