RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team lost both games of a home doubleheader against East Central on Tuesday. The Comets (7-15) lost the first game 4-2 and the Tigers (7-24) took the nightcap 6-4.
Game One Highlights
- With two outs in the top of first, ECU's Kenni Tudor drew a walk and later scored on a base hit by Brooklyn Charnock.Â
- UTD tied it up in the bottom of the first after
Julia Maniscalco doubled, moved to third on an
Avery Martin and scored while Martin got caught in a rundown trying to steal.
- ECU regained a 2-1 lead when Abbey Strong was hit by a pitch and was driven in by an Elysse LeClair double.
- Maniscalco and Martin recorded back-to-back doubles in the third to make the game 2-2.
- LeClair knocked in Strong with a base hit in the top of the fourth to put the Tigers up 3-2.
- Kennedy Lord scored on a wild pitch in the fifth to make it 4-2.
- The Comets outhit the Tigers 8-5.
UT Dallas in Game One
- Maniscalco posted a pair of doubles and scored twice.
- Martin was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double.
- Center fielder
Chloe Grimmer went 2-for-3.

- Freshman
Savannah Vanderpool (2-1) threw six innings and struck out six while allowing five hits, three runs and a walk. She has 13 strikeouts in her last two appearances.
East Central in Game One
- Bradi Odom (2-4) earned the win in the circle. She allowed eight hits, two runs and a walk with eight strikeouts over five innings.
- Lindsey Mauppin struck out one in two scoreless innings to pick up the save.
- LeClair was 2-for-4 with two RBI, a double and a stolen base.
- Strong had a hit, two runs scored, a walk, was hit by a pitch and stole two bases.
Game Two Highlights
- Hannah Whitaker hit a two-run homer to left center in the top of the first for ECU.
- Lord knocked in Rylynn Truett later in the inning to give the Tigers a 3-0 advantage.
- The Comets took a 4-3 lead on four hits in the third.
- Freshman left fielder
Rachel Wallace drove in Holm and Maniscalco with a single to left for the first two runs.
- Martin followed with a two-run blast over the fence in right field - her first of the year.
- Tudor doubled in Mauppin in the fifth to tie the game at 4-4.
- A two-run single by pinch hitter Lylith Harris proved to be the game-winning hit in the sixth.
- ECU outhit UTD 11-8 in game two.
Comets in Game Two
- Maniscalco recorded two more doubles and scored.Â
- Wallace singled and drove in two runs.
- Martin was 2-for-4 wit the two-run home run.

Tigers in Game Two
- Mauppin (1-1) earned the win with three strikeouts and allowing three hits over three innings of relief.
- LeClair singled, scored twice and stole a base.
- Whitaker's home run was her first of the season.
- Lillian Bacon was 2-for-3, as was Sara Camplain.
- Tudor went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and a walk.
