LAREDO, Texas - The UT Dallas baseball team completed its seventh Lone Star Conference series victory of the season, finishing off a sweep of Texas A&M International with a 17-5, eight-inning win at Jorge Haynes Field Sunday.
With the win, the Comets (26-8 LSC) remain in a tie for first place with UT Tyler.Â
Once again, the offense dominated the series, outhitting the Dustdevils (11-23) 60-32 with a .438 average.Â
Game Highlights

Trent McCown led off the top of the second with a solo home run - his 10th of the season.

Chris Benavidez reached on an error and later scored on a wild pitch for a 2-0 lead in the second.
- UTD scored five runs on four hits, three walks and two hit batters in the fourth.

Alex Miller was hit by a pitch and scored on an
Austin Wallace double.
Albert Garza followed with a base hit, plating Wallace for a 9-0 lead.
- TAMIU got on the board with two runs in the fifth.
- Miller drove in Benavidez with a base hit in the sixth to make the game 10-2.
- A Jacob Angell triple to center field, scoring Derek Garcia gave the Dustdevils another run in the bottom of the sixth.
- The home team added two more runs in the seventh to cut the deficit to 10-5.

Nico Fernandez extended his hitting streak to 16 games with a pair of singles and two RBI.
