LAWTON, Okla. - For the fifth time in six weeks, the UT Dallas baseball team won the Lone Star Conference series opener, defeating Cameron 9-5 Saturday at McCord Field.
Playing as the home team due to the weather-forced change of venue, the Comets (12-7) outhit the Aggies (7-11) 8-6 and took advantage of seven errors.
UTD went up 3-0 in the second on three hits and three errors.
Trent McCown and
Austin Wallace each had RBI-doubles in the inning.
CU got on the board in the top of the third when Will Bradley was hit by a pitch and scored on a Zane Roos double. Bradley singled in Jackson Harrell in the fourth to make the game 3-2.

Kole Kinnison plated
Albert Garza in to give the Comets a 5-2 advantage in the fourth. The Aggies cut the deficit to a run after a Roos RBI-triple and a Jackson Harrell run-scoring ground ball in the top of the fifth.
UTD scored four runs on a hit, three errors and a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Keagaon Solomon knocked in Diego Villarreal with a sac fly in the top of the ninth for the final 9-5 tally.
UT Dallas Performances
- Wallace went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI, double and a stolen base.
- First baseman
Alex Miller recorded a pair of singles.
- McCown doubled, scored twice and drove in a run.
- Shortstop
Jake Amoroso recorded a single, two walks, two runs scored and a sacrifice bunt.

Christian Robb (1-0) earned the victory by striking out two and allowing two walks in 1.2 innings of relief.

Kole Allen allowed one run, two walks and struck out two in a three-inning save performance.
Cameron Performances
- Starter Jared Hughes (0-3) took the loss.
- Ryan Kopp threw 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing three walks, one hit and two strikeouts.
- Roos went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, a double and a triple.
- Solomon had a sac fly, was hit by a pitch, doubled, walked and drove in a run.
