ROCKWALL, Texas - The UT Dallas men's golf team is in seventh place after the first two rounds of the Lone Star Conference Championship at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club on Monday.
The Comets shot a 304-302=606 (+30) and are 12 shots off the lead in the 12-team tournament that features seven squads ranked in the top 50. Tied for first are #46 Cameron (594/+18) and #20 West Texas A&M (594/+18), followed by #43 UT Tyler (597/+21), #24 UT Permian Basin (600/+24), #38 Midwestern State (602/+26), #8 St. Mary's (605/+29), UTD and #21 DBU (608/+32).
Junior
Hunter Wolfinger leads UTD with a 72-77=149 (+5) and is tied for 12th. His even par in the first round was good for third place. Wolfinger made seven birdies on the day.

Nick Slobbe shot a 78-73=151 (+7) with four birdies and is tied for 24th. Freshman
Banks Tessier is tied for 24th with a 77-75=152 (+8), making seven birdies. Senior
Cole Wiley shot a 77-79=156 (+12) with four birdies and is in 43rd. Senior
Tyler Durden is tied for 46th with an 81-77=158 (+14).
Durden made five birdies on the day, breaking the school career record with 293. He also passed the UTD record with his 99th round played.
The Comets will wrap up stroke play with the third round at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
