UTD in Eighth Place at Riviera Maya

Gabe Haslauer sank five birdies and an eagle in round two

AKUMAL, Mexico - The UT Dallas men's golf team sits in eighth place after two rounds of the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya on Monday.

The Comets have tallied a 313-302=615 (+39), sitting two shots ahead of Lone Star Conference rival West Texas A&M (617/+41) in the 10-team field.

Gabe Haslauer had the top round of the day for UTD, shooting a 74 with five birdies and an eagle - his second of the year. He is now tied for 43rd with a 161 (+17).

Greg Lewis and Abhay Duggal are tied for 14th at 152 (+8). Hunter Wolfinger is tied for 39th with a 77-82 (+15) with four birdies. Drew McSpadden has an 83-77=160 (+16) and is tied for 41st.

The Comets will tee off the final round at 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
