RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's team dropped a 7-0 decision to #6 UT Tyler at the UTD Tennis Courts on Wednesday.
The visiting Patriots (18-4, 6-1 Lone Star Conference) won the doubles point, but were tested by the Comets (1-14, 1-6 LSC) at the top spot. UTD's team of
Benjamin Dubois and
Matheus de Freitas Zanellato pushed #16 Daniil Felker and Carel Wessel before falling 7-6 (7-5).
The top two singles duels were close.
Juan Luis Aguirre took the first set from #19 Wessel before falling 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7). Dubois pushed #22 Malo Poulesquen to a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) score.
In the third spot, senior
Eddy Shteyn lost to #11 Samuel Antwi 6-2, 6-4.
The Comets will play the final match of the season at home against St. Mary's at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
