RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas softball team played its final home games of the 2026 campaign, losing to Texas Woman's 7-2 and 7-1 in a Lone Star Conference doubleheader at the UTD Softball Field Sunday evening.
Before game one, the Comets (13-31, 11-25 LSC) honored three seniors -
Julia Guerrero,
Claire Pollack and
Avery Martin.
Game One Highlights
- The Pioneers (26-24, 19-17 LSC) outhit the Comets 10-8, including six solo home runs.
- Marissa Espinoza led the game off with a home run and two batters later, Hawwa Townsend hit one to center field for an early 2-0 lead.
- Trinity Perry added a solo shot to center field in the top of the second to make the game 3-0.

Chloe Grimmer led the bottom of the second off with a single and advanced to second on an error. She made it to third after a line drive.Â

Rachel Wallace drove in Grimmer with a single to left center, making the game 3-1.
- Elizabeth Smith homered to led off the fourth for TWU and Riley Todd had an RBI-double, plating Madison Altman to put the visitors up 5-1.
- Townsend recorded her second homer of the game in the fifth.
- Tamia Cherry made the game 7-1 with another solo shot in the top of the seventh.
- Pollack led the bottom of the seventh off with a double and scored on a
Julia Maniscalco double for the final run of the game.
UT Dallas in Game One
- Wallace went 2-for-4 with an RBI. She leads the team with 24 runs batted in.
- Pollack doubled, scored and recorded a sacrifice bunt. She became the sixth Comet in program history to reach 100 career runs and moved into sixth with 26 career doubles.
- Martin was 1-for-3 with a walk.
- Grimmer was singled, scored and drew a walk.

Brooke Bouldin went 2-for-3.

Sophia Martinez drew three walks.
- Maniscalco broke the school record for doubles in a season with her 17th.
- Savannah Vanderpook (2-4) started and took the loss.
St. Edward's in Game One
- Randi Crawford (15-5) struck out eight batters and gave up eight hits, two runs and five walks in the complete game victory.
- Towsend was 2-for-4 with the two solo home runs.
- Madison Lux went 2-for-4.
Game Two Highlights
- Martin hit a solo home run in the opposite direction in the bottom of the first to give the Comets a 1-0 lead.
- Zaryah Williams singled in Madison Altman to tie the game in the top of the second. Ashley Allinger was thrown out at home by Grimmer on the same play.
- Perry hit a three-run home run in the third to put the Pioneers up 4-1.
- TWU added two more runs in the third after an error and an Espinoza double.
- Riley Todd hit a solo home run in the seventh for the final run of the game.
- TWU outhit UTD 12-2.
Comets in Game Two
- Martin hit the sole home run, walked and threw out a runner trying to steal. She leads UTD with five home runs this season.
- Martinez recorded the other hit for the Comets.
- Sarah Oelncik drew a pair of walks.
- Wallace and Grimmer also walked.

Allison Koch (2-5) took the loss in the circle.

Katie Hart struck out five in 4.1 innings of relief.
- The Comets broke the school record for most walks in a season, now with 140.
Pioneers in Game Two
- Espinoza was 2-for-5 with the RBI-double.
- Towsend was 2-for-4.
- Cherry drew two walks and stole two bases.
- Perry had the three-run home run.
- Todd and Williams each recorded three hits.
- Caydance Gaddis (9-10) struck out five and gave up five walks, two hits and one run in the win.
Up Next
UTD will travel to Lawton, Okla. to face Cameron in an LSC doubleheader at 4 p.m. Thursday.
