RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Cal State East Bay 3-1 at the UTD Soccer Field Saturday night.
The Comets (1-0-1) opened the scoring in the 16th minute when
Osi Iyamah's pass connected withĀ
Avery Brazzell on a breakaway run.Ā
The Pioneers (0-2) tied the game on a free kick by Jeffers Parada in the 50th minute.Ā
Seb Martinez gave UTD the lead in the 66th minute after a sprint down the right side of the field.
Julio De Los Reyes and
Jordan Jones assisted his goal.
BrazzellĀ scored again in the 84th minute on an assist from
Callum Thompson.
UTD outshot CSUEBĀ 11-9 overall and 5-2 on goal. The Pioneers led in corner kicks, 7-5, while the Comets committed more fouls, 17-12. Six yellow cards and one red card were issued during the match.

- BrazellĀ now has seven career goals as a Comet. It was first multiple-goal performance.
- Martinez' game-winning goal was his first score at UTD.
- De Los Reyes has recorded assists in both games this season. He has a four-game point streak dating back to last season.
