RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's soccer team won its third straight game, defeating Northeastern State 2-1 at the UTD Soccer Field Thursday night.
The Comets (4-1-1) got on the board early when forward
Avery Brazzell made a move around the Riverhawks' (1-4) defenders and found the right side of the net in the fifth minute.
The game remained 1-0 until NSU's MiguelĀ Carrasquinho arched in a free kick in the 62nd minute.
Osi Iyamah gave UTD the victory five minutes later after beating a couple of defenders and the NSU keeper.Ā
Comet goalkeeper
Ryder Claborn came up with a crucial save in the 78th minute, stopping a shot by Mason Winters.
NSU outshot UTD 16-13, but the home team led 7-6 in shots on goal. The Riverhawks had an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks and both teams committed 11 fouls.
