SHAWNEE, Okla. - The UT Dallas women's soccer team defeated Oklahoma Baptist 4-0 at the OBU Soccer Complex Wednesday night.
The win was the Comets' third consecutive shutout to start the season, improving their record to 3-0. UTD outshot the Bison (0-2) 23-7 overall and 9-3 on goal, while also holding a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks. The Comets were whistled for more fouls, however, by a 12-10 margin.
UTD did not allow OBU to take a shot in the opening period. Forward
Ella Spiller broke the scoring open with a goal in the 33rd minute, on a pass from
Ella Kelley.
Spiller made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute with an assist from
Amelia Griffin.
Kyleigh D'Spain converted a penalty kick in the 82nd minute, then
Grace Pritchard added the final goal 1:01 later.
UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets move to 3-0 all-time against the Bison.
