EDMOND, Okla. - The UT Dallas men's soccer team battled Oklahoma Christian to a 0-0 tie in the first Lone Star Conference match of the season at Eagle Field on Wednesday evening.
The Comets (6-1-2, 0-0-1 LSC) outshot the Eagles (3-4-1, 0-0-1 LSC) 9-4 overall and 5-1 on goal. UTD also led in corner kicks (4-1) and committed more fouls (14-10).
The Comets had scoring chances in the first half, with shots on goal by
Evan Pustejovsky in the 23rd minute and
Osi Iyamah in the 35th.
OC keeper Dante Caffaro stopped Pustejovsky again in the 59th and 84th minutes.
Ryder Claborn came up with a huge save for UTD in the 77th minute when he punched out a shot from Luis Alvis.
The Comets had one more chance with a shot by
Aaron Pondeca with 1:17 remaining, but Caffaro came up with the stop.
UT Dallas Notes
- Claborn finished with the one save, completing his 10th career shutout and third of the year.
- Pustejovsky took four shots, three on goal.
- Iyamah and Pondeca also posted shots on target.

- Caffaro recorded five saves in the shutout effort.
- Alvis had the only shot on goal for the Eagles.
- Joshua Wells, Alejandro Gomez and Kenzo Shabazz-Edwards also recorded a shot each.
