RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's soccer team easily defeated Eastern New Mexico 7-0 in Lone Star Conference game at UTD Soccer Field Wednesday night.
It was the most goals in a match for the Comets (6-2-1, 2-2-1 LSC) since 2018. They outshot the Greyhounds (1-5-1, 0-3 LSC) 33-0, with 20 shots on goal. UTD also led 14-1 in corner kicks and both teams committed seven fouls.
Three of the goals came off corner kicks, beginning with
Emma Best delivering a pass to
Ella Spiller in the 10th minute to start the scoring.
Kyleigh D'Spain scored back-to-back goals in the 32nd and 42nd minutes.
Amelia Griffin delivered a corner kick to her on the first goal and
Linzy Villa connected with D'Spain on the second one to make it 3-0 before the break.
Just 25 seconds into the second half,
Viviana Duarte scored on a
Kaley Robison helper.
Gabby Thompson made it 5-0 with a penalty kick in the 61st minute.
Jules Chavez scored in the 67th minute and
Kaitlyn Rush managed the final goal on a corner kick assist
Erika Montes with 2:33 left.
UT Dallas Notes
- Spiller's goal was her third of the year and second game-winner.
- D'Spain now has four goals this season.
- Duarte's score was the first of her UTD career.
- Thompson recorded her fifth goal of the season and 17th of her career. She also tied the Comet career record with her fourth penalty kick goal.
- Chavez came up with her fourth goal of the year and 21st in her career.
- Rush's goal was her first as a Comet.
- The Comets held possession 68 percent of the time.
- UTD now has seven shutouts this season.

- Aja Gonzales recorded 13 saves for the Greyhounds.
