A versatile athlete, Brandon Greene was UTD’s second-leading scorer for two seasons (2007-08 and 2008-09) before sustaining a season-ending injury in 2009-10. He suffered a finger before the Comets faced Division I UT-Arlington on Jan. 2.

Greene, one of the most vital pieces to the Comets' offensive puzzle, should return in 2010-11, pending a medical redshirt issuance from the NCAA.

“He can play any position on the floor,” said UTD coach Terry Butterfield. “He just gets it. He really understands our system and how to make it work for his own individual skills.”

Two years ago, Greene served as one of the American Southwest Conference representatives a the 2009 NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference in Orlando, FL.

2009-10: Averaged 10.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in nine games...collected a pair of 17-point games, both of which were against Howard Payne...was shooting 46% from the field at the time his injury occurred.

2008-09: Was a key cog on a Comets squad that advanced all the way to the “Elite Eight” of the NCAA Division III Tournament…started in all 31 games, averaging 10.6 points per game…added 3.6 rebounds per game, as well as 2.6 assists per game…led UTD in scoring in five games, including a 73-53 win over Sul Ross St. in which he totaled 18 points.

2007-08: Averaged 10.9 points per game and chipped in 105 rebounds, the third-most on the team…scored a career-high 27 points in UTD’s 88-74 win over the Univ. of the Ozarks on Feb. 9, 2008…manufactured a 24-point outing in UTD’s 66-44 win over LeTourneau on Feb. 16, 2008…led team in scoring in five games.

2006-07: Began Comet career as key reserve, playing in 25 games and starting in one…averaged 6.5 points per game and stockpiled 19 3-pointers throughout the year.
