As expected, Mallory Meyers was a central contributor for the UT Dallas softball team in 2010. After opting to bypass softball her freshman year (2008-09), Meyers, who originally came to UTD as a two-sport athlete, helped the Comets triple their win total from the previous year.

Not only was she 8-12 in the circle in 2010 -- she hit .315 as an outfielder and designated player when she wasn't pitching. Immediately, Meyers' transition from the hardwood to the softball diamond proved seamless, and she will be sought upon as one of UTD's best dual-threat players in 2011.

Meyers played for UTD's women's basketball team for 1 1/2 seasons.

2010: Started 39 of the Comets' 40 games, making 15 pitching starts...held a 5.32 ERA, giving up 21 home runs throughout the year...was fourth in the American Southwest Conference with 92 strikeouts...offensively, she maintained a batting average of .315, totaling 35 hits and 17 RBIs...her lone home run came in a win over Howard Payne at the ASC First Pitch Tournament (March 6).

HIGH SCHOOL: Won all-district honors in both basketball and softball at Smithson Valley HS, where she played four years of basketball and two seasons of softball...was an MVP at eight different HS basketball tournaments during her career and a six-time winner of Academic All-District recognition...allso played two years of volleyball as a freshman and sophomore.

Was part of the 12-&-under state softball championship team as a youngster.
