For the first two years of her collegiate career, Caysie Norum, a two-time ASC All-East Division Second Team selection, has been UT Dallas' primary offensive cog. After a groundbreaking campaign in 2010, her sophomore season, Norum has now boasted UTD's top individual batting average for two consecutive years. Her .468 batting average was good for second in the American Southwest Conference, and only one other conference player was walked more throughout the spring.

Norum's efficiency at first base also improved in 2010, as she was issued a fielding percentage of .949.

2010: Along with third baseman Courtney Kuebler, led UTD with six home runs...fueled UTD's offense with a team-best batting average of .486...laced 54 hits and compiled a team-high 34 RBIs, conjuring a slugging percentage of .793...lifted two home runs in a narrow loss to Hardin-Simmons on March 5...drove in four runs in three games, including wins over Rust College (MS) and the Univ. of Dallas...named to the ASC All-East Division Second Team for the second straight year.

2009: Earned second-team American Southwest Conference East Division recognition after hitting .394 as a freshman. Played in and started 36 games. Tallied 9 doubles and 7 homeruns while driving in 28 runs. Made 25 pitching appearances, throwing 86 innings. Recorded 25 strikeouts and was 4-9 with an 8.69 ERA. Won Player of the Week honors once.

HIGH SCHOOL: Won All-District honors twice while playing first base for Conroe HS (Conroe, TX), where she played four years on the varsity squad...was an Academic All-District honoree...also played volleyball for Conroe HS.
