Richardson, TX - The UTD men's and women's cross-country teams traveled to White Rock Lake to compete in the SMU Cross-Country Classic on Saturday, with the men finishing 8th and the women finishing 7th.

The women ran with one less runner than usual on Saturday. Sophomore Kristen Clement, a 1999 ASC All-Conference runner, was forced to miss the competition because of a prior academic commitment. The men's team was led by senior Shad Marshall, once again. Marshall led the Comets last weekend at Abilene Christian University. Also finishing well for the Comets was newcomer Josh Edwards, who finished second on the team. The Comets finished with 218 points, losing to conference rival LeTourneau University by one point.
