Biography

Derek Mott, a recruit from Austin, TX, was a back-up utility infielder in 2010, his first season with the Comets. He made two appearances early in the spring, and will seek increased minutes in 2011.

2010: Played in two games, subbing in to play third base in a Feb. 28 win over Schreiner...was 1-for-2 with a run batted in.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned Team MVP honors, as well as a Second Team All-District nod, while playing for McNeil HS (Austin, TX).
