Biography

2011: Appeared in 17 games in relief for the Comets as a junior...Pitched 24.1 innings and recorded four saves...Had a 3-0 record with a 3.33 earned run average....Had 23 strikeouts to just six walks...Recorded two saves in the postseason for UTD.

2010: Was 1-0 in four starts and eight overall appearances...corralled his only win by pitching a five-inning, one-run outing at Austin College on April 20...had an ERA of 6.33 and recorded nine strikeouts throughout the season.

2009: Gave up just two hits and no runs in his first start, a five-inning appearance against Austin College... finished the season with a 6.32 ERA and 2-0 record in three starts and one relief appearance...struck out 13 in 15.2 innings of work.

HIGH SCHOOL: Willard played baseball and basketball at Garland Christian Academy, where his baseball team won two district titles (2004-05) and his basketball team advanced to bi-regional in 2008...was a three-time team MVP who won two All-District awards and was selected Second Team All-State in 2007...he was his class salutatorian and Class President as a senior, earning several awards and nominations.
