Biography

Nick Amaya earned a roster spot on the Comet defense in 2008 after a strong high school career at Austin Bowie HS. Played in the right back position and will be competing for playing time in the defensive backfield in 2009, coaches say.

2008: Played in 12 games

HIGH SCHOOL: Amaya's Bowie HS team won 25-5A championships in 2007 and 2008, and was a regional runner-up in both 2006 and 2007. In 2008, Amaya was the 25-5A Defensive MVP and won 2007 All-District honors two years. Also won Academic All-District honors three straight years.
