University of Texas at Dallas Athletics

After a two-year hiatus from collegiate soccer, Ambrose transferred to UT Dallas for his final two seasons of eligibility. A relentless attacker as a center midfielder, Ambrose catalyzed the Comets’ offense, totaling 16 goals—and 44 points—in just two years on coach Jack Peel’s roster.

In 40 games, he has averaged more shots per game (3.72) than any other player in school history, and has ripped off 78 shots throughout his UTD career. Ambrose is one of 10 athletes to have logged over 2,500 minutes on the field with the men’s soccer program.

2009: Named to the All-American Southwest Conference First Team for the second straight year…tied fellow senior Cory Roth as UTD’s leader in points (17)…registered seven goals, assisting on three more…one of three Comets to start in all of the team’s 19 games.

2008: Was an All-ASC First Team selection…scored nine goals and picked up nine assists, totaling 27 points in UTD’s 21 games…won ASC Offensive Player of the Week once…also named to the NSCAA All-Region Second Team.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played the 2005 and 2006 seasons at Richland College, where he helped guide his team to a Junior College National Championship in ’05, followed by a national runner-up finish in ’06.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a two-time Offensive MVP in 2002 and 2003 at Naaman Forest HS (Garland, TX), where his team advanced to the playoffs for three consecutive seasons…earned All-Region honors once and All-District nods twice…played on the Andromeda club team, which won numerous state and regional tournaments…was active in Namaan Forests’ Student Council and the National Honor Society.
