In her first season, the Comets went 17-18 while transitioning to NCAA Division II. The team broke the school records for most batters hit by a pitch and walks in a season.Â
Dickson joined the Comets after a five-year stint as the pitching coach for Towson University in Maryland. She helped the Tigers reach the Coastal Athletic Association Tournament finals in 2023.
Prior to Towson, she was the co-owner and founder of Sports Doctor Athletics Indoor and Outdoor Sports Facility in Clarksville, Tenn. Not only was Dickson the manager of the facility, staff and events, she also provided professional instruction.
She served as the head softball coach at Austin Peay State in Clarksville from 2009-12. Dickson coached two All-Ohio Valley Conference selections and a College Sports Information Directors of America All-District pick while winning 62 games.
Prior to APSU, Dickson spent three seasons at Temple University in Philadelphia as the head coach. While with the Owls, she coached the Atlantic 10 Softball Player of the Year, A10 Student-Athlete of the Year and All-Region selection. Dickson also tenured three All-Atlantic 10 selections and two All-Rookie team members.
Dickson spent three seasons as the head softball coach at Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas. The 2005 team earned a combined 3.62 cumulative grade point average and was named the National Junior College Athletic Association All-Academic Team of the Year.
Dickson also had stints as an assistant coach at Tulsa (1999), Nicholls State (2000) and UT San Antonio (2001).

She ended her four years at OU as one of the school's most prolific offensive players, sitting atop career lists for RBI (166), home runs (27), total bases (337) and walks (118). The first Oklahoma player to receive All-Midwest Region honors three times (1995-97), the three-time all-conference selection led the Sooners to four straight NCAA Tournaments.
Dickson received a bachelor's degree in English Literature in 2000 from OU.
Following her collegiate playing career, Dickson was selected by Tampa Bay in the first Women's Professional Softball League draft. She opted to play with the California Redding Rebels in the Women's Major Softball League (1997).
