Summary

Biography

An intrepid point guard who bulled her way through traffic, Edwards will leave UT Dallas as the most accomplished women's basketball player in the history of the 12-year program.

She finished the 2009-10 campaign, her final season, as the Comets' all-time leader in points (1,314), steals (287), assists (426) and free throws made (319). She has also started in more games than any other women's basketball player to pass through UTD.

Edwards led the Comets in scoring during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons and has been recognized on American Southwest Conference East Division Teams for the past four years. In 2009-10, she was voted to the ASC's prestigious All-Conference Team, and was one of 10 candidates for the Josten's Trophy -- an award bestowed to the National Player of the Year in Division III women's basketball.

"She's one of those player you're lucky to coach," said UTD coach Polly Thomason. "She's a great leader. More than anything, though, she's a leader by example. There have been times where she has carried us on her back."

Edwards has twice been a UTD Distinguished Scholar-Athlete.
