Collecting 21 shutouts in a three-year span at UT Dallas, Andrea Jones has been a mainstay in net since her freshman season, when she was crowned the American Southwest Conference Freshman Defensive Player of the Year.

She assumed her goalkeeping duties to begin the 2009 season, but was also positioned at forward for the Comets’ last five games in order to jumpstart a stagnant offense. She scored one goal in ASC Tournament action, leading the Comets through two shootout wins before they fell in the league championship bout.

Jones will return for her senior season in 2010 and will take aim at a number of UTD goalkeeping records.

In addition, Jones has worked as a soccer referee since she was 10 years old and is certified to officiate youth, high school and college games as 07-grade official with the USSF.

2009: Compiled a 3-5-3 record in 14 appearances in net…posted five shutouts…recorded 51 saves to go along with a save percentage of .836…logged over 1,000 minutes in net for the third time in her career…earned an All-ASC Honorable Mention nod…scored one goal, as a forward, in the ASC Tournament…filled in for freshman goalkeeper Katelyn Flory during the Comets’ pair of shootout wins over Mississippi College and UT Tyler in the ASC playoffs.

2008: Played in 21 games, giving up 11 goals while making 67 saves…stopped .859 percent of opponents’ shots on goal…finished the season with a 13-4-3 record…was credited with eight shutouts.

2007: Started 16 games, allowing six goals…made 36 saves…named the ASC Freshman Defensive Player of the Year…stockpiled eight shutouts en route to earning a 12-3-2 reco in net.

HIGH SCHOOL: Had an award-winning career at Round Rock HS (Round Rock, TX), where she was First Team All-District and All-Region as a senior…recognized four times for her academic achievements, receiving notice for her 4.0 GPA on the Academic All-State Team.
