Taylor Pounds, who played for Division I Sam Houston State (Huntsville, TX) in 2009, is a top tier midfielder and integral addition to UT Dallas' 2010 roster. The sophomore sensation played in just three games at SHSU last fall, battling injuries for most of the season. In 2010, Pounds will play a vital role in orchestrating UTD's offense, both in the midfield and up front.

While attending SHSU, she was a Southland Conference All-Academic Team honoree.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-time All-District standout at A&M Consolidated HS (College Station, TX), where she played four years of varsity soccer...crowned the district's Offensive MVP in 2009, when she also earned All-Region status for the second straight year...voted team captain in 2009...voted Team MVP in 2008 and 2009...led A&M to four consecutive playoff appearances (2006-2009)...is currently the school's second all-time leading score...also played for premier club teams TSC Challenge Blitz '91 and the Challenge soccer club, located in Houston, TX.
