Former Georgetown University softball star Kayla Dunn joined the UT Dallas coaching staff as the pitching coach in August 2025.
Dunn spent four seasons in Washington, D.C. with the Hoyas, picking up 22 victories and five saves with 367 strikeouts over 426 innings. She also recorded 61 hits, including three home runs, and 33 runs batted in at the plate. Dunn ranked fourth in the top 10 in the Big East Conference in strikeouts and innings pitched as a senior. She left the Hoyas in the top four in career games started, played, innings pitched and strikeouts and was a NFCA Scholar-Athlete all four years.
She graduated from Georgetown with a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology & International Affairs with a minor in Arabic in 2025. Dunn is currently enrolled in UT Dallas and pursuing Master's of Science in both Social Data Analytics and Research and Data Science.
From Holly Springs, N.C., Dunn was a four-year starter for Holly Springs High School and was a two-time conference Player of the Year and the Pitcher of the Year as a senior. She was a two-time All-State selection and All-Academic Conference three times.
Dunn has coaching experience with Diamonds and Aces in Morrisville, N.C. and as a pitching instructor for Southfork Sports Complex in Parker, Texas.
