RICHARDSON, TX (10.17.09)
– The UT Dallas men's soccer team held off Texas Lutheran University for the final 25 minutes of aSaturday afternoon match to claim a 2-1 American Southwest Conference victory.

The Comets (8-4-3 overall) had taken a seemingly comfortable 2-0 lead when Mazi Rabiee returned to the lineup after weeks of injury and scored off a double-assist from Justin Bailey and Stephen Ambrose at the 63:14 mark. But TLU countered with their only goal of the game at the 65:49 mark and spent the rest of the match threatening to tie the score.

Stephen Ambrose Action
TLU (2-9-2, 2-5-2 in the ASC) outshot the Comets 11-4 in the second half after UTD had dominated the game offensively before halftime, allowing just two shots. In the second half, though, the Comets managed just four shots while trying to prevent the Bulldog rally.

Ambrose put the Comets up with their first goal in the 34th minute unassisted. He finished the day with four shots, three on goal, a goal and an assist.

The win keeps UTD tied with the University of the Ozarks at 5-3-1 in conference and in the final two post-season slots. Both teams have four ASC games remaining.
