RICHARDSON, TX - The University of Texas at Dallas volleyball team will be joined by seven other Division III and NAIA teams as they launch their 2012 season at home this weekend with the UTD Volleyball Labor Day Tournament.

Eight teams will be competing on two courts at the UT Dallas Activity Center gymnasium beginning at 12 noon Friday, August 31st. There will be eight matches Friday with start times schedule at 12 noon, 2:30 pm, 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The participants then return for eight more matches on Saturday, September 1st, starting at 10:00 am. The other scheduled Saturday matches are at 12:30 pm, 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm. Each team will play four matches during the weekend.

Participating in the tournament will be seven NCAA Division III teams and Texas Wesleyan University, an NAIA school. American Southwest Conference (ASC) members UT Dallas, Hardin-Simmons, Texas Lutheran, LeTourneau and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will be joined by two teams from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) - Hendrix College (AR) and Centenary College (LA).

UTD is planning to provide LIVE STATS coverage of all matches.

ADMISSION for the tournament will be sold as Day Passes only. Adult day passes will be $5.00 each day with students admitted for $3.00 each day. There will be no pass lists at the tournament.

IMPORTANT! VISITOR PARKING on Friday will require a VISITOR'S PARKING PASS from the UTD Visitor's Center (located in the Activity Center entrance just west of the traffic circle on the main University Drive entrance to campus). All visitors need to first stop at the Visitor's Center to get the pass and then park in GREEN PERMIT PARKING areas only. Vehicles without the Visitor's Pass or parked in other areas may be subject to traffic citations. The Visitor's Center is not open on Saturday, so no permit will be required.
